This coastline, with its temperate climate, has stunning scenery, picturesque harbours, charming fishing villages and coastal paths just waiting to be explored. For the more enthusiastic walker/hiker there are many tranquil and scenic walks through the hills and glens and along the nearby Speyside way.

Buckie is an ideal base for exploring the beauty of this area of Scotland with easy access to skiing in the Cairngorms National Park, Royal Deeside, the whisky trails, historic castles, fishing, golf and so much more. There are local boat trips from Buckie Harbour offering a chance to spot Dolphins, Whales or Seals which abound along this coastline and can often be seen from the cottage. For the walkers/hikers there are numerous cliff top and woodland walks close by offering stunning scenery and an abundance of wildlife. Numerous wide sandy beaches are only a short distance away at Cullen, Spey Bay, Lossiemouth etc.
